Foundation done, Lumber arrives, Framing Starts!

May 24, 2007

Foundation was complete on Wednesday and the crew removed forms on Thursday morning. Lumber was delivered on Thursday afternoon. Was surprised at the I joists - didn't really know what to expect. Frank's crew came in Friday morning and by 1:00 on Saturday, totally finished with the "post & beam" portion. Next, rough-in plumbing (wk of May 28) and then HVac rough-in (June 4).

Pouring Foundation

May 23, 2007 (Meghann's birthday)

Well after a long wait (one fellow on the crew was injured and 2 others sick) the foundations were poured, set and ready for inspection. First time didn't pass, the crew came back made some adjustments and got the o.k. to pour on the morning 5/23/07. Interesting 2nd inspector, had to "read" the plans to him, or maybe he was just testing me. :-)

After pouring the footings, Jim's crew came out and set up the forms for the foundation walls.

Week Ending Sat. May 12, 2007

Lots of activity at the beginning of the week. R was home to watch the pour on the footings. Boy, is that pumper truck big, reaches way up the heavens. Meg shot most of these pics - had to get a couple of us "observing". Next will be the actual pouring of the foundation. When their doing something it's really exciting, when nothing is going on - a bit of a downer.

Still not sure how to post these pictures in the correct order. Of course this whole process will take a long time, so I will have some time to figure this out.

Last for this afternoon

Last couple of pics for the day - This is my first time "blogging" so I must get a bit more organized. Sorry the pictures are before the intro.

This is the way it looks this evening. Jim will be back in the am to add some more rock and fix a couple of stakes. Then probably nothing for a few days. But at least we are started. (supposed to rain tomorrow anyway)
